An interesting read about life in the US Navy written by someone who enlisted in the US Navy at age 17. The author was wise beyond his years and took advantage of the opportunities his enlistment afforded him. His interest in all phases of ship board operations provided him with a need to learn about them and he was given the opportunity to do so because he asked questions and showed a desire to learn.
