What’s Beyond the Horizon: My 34 Years of Naval Service by Wayne Wright
Wayne is a native Californian, born to Grace Evangline and Joseph Andrew Wright, of Pasadena, California just before dawn on the 6th Day of September 1939.
Wayne started school in California and moved to Reno, Nevada in time to start the second grade. However, the California school system was academically behind the Navada school system, and he couldn’t read at a level with the Navada students.

An interesting read about life in the US Navy written by someone who enlisted in the US Navy at age 17. The author was wise beyond his years and took advantage of the opportunities his enlistment afforded him. His interest in all phases of ship board operations provided him with a need to learn about them and he was given the opportunity to do so because he asked questions and showed a desire to learn.
